Contemporary Japanese Restaurant Specializes In Ramen And Cocktails

NR is where East meets West, where the past fuses with the present.

Located in Manhattan's UES, NR is a contemporary twist on restaurants that were found in traditional Japanese port towns during the Meiji Period, when Japan first became open to the rest of the world after nearly two centuries of seclusion. NR specializes in ramen - noodles of Chinese origin, and cocktails - first brought to Japanese ports by western countries.

NR flaunts an impressive list of innovative cocktails. Lychee is perfect for a hot summer day. This frozen drinks is made with vodka, lychee, ginger, cardamon, and lime, with sparkling wine poured on the tableside. The Raffles Hotel's Singapore Sling features gin, cherry heeling, grand marnier, pineapple, lime and angostura bitters.

To share, the signature Deviled Egg + Egg + Egg is an absolute must. This bougie twist on traditional deviled eggs are seasoned with dashi, wasabi, karashi (Japanese mustard), and house mayo, and topped with sea urchin, caviar, and shiso. The Spicy Fried Chicken Bun is cut in half for ease of sharing. In between fluffy steamed bun are fried chicken, lettuce, purple onion, house spicy sauce, and house tartar sauce.

If you like uni and salmon roe, then this is the ramen for you. The Sea Urchin + Salmon Caviar is a soupless ramen that packs a ton of flavors. The perfectly al dente ramen in premium dashi and house sea urchin paste is topped with generous amount of sea urchin, salmon caviar, shiso, and seaweed. You might be licking off the plate for that last savory bite...
