Populares brings a fresh perspective to traditional Mexican cuisine with an aim to delight diners.
Populares is a new modern boutique Mexican restaurant, Taqueria and bar. With a focus on popular Mexican dishes and tacos reimagined with a modern twist, Populares offers a vibrant culinary experience in a retro-stylish and inviting atmosphere.
For starters, make sure to order the Guacamole for the table. The chunky and flavorful guacamole pairs perfectly with crispy house-made totopos. Another standouts from the starter were the Tuna Tostada made with soy-brushed sashimi grade tuna, salsa, guacamole, cilantro, and radish on top of crunchy tostada, as well as the creamy elote.
You can't go to a taqueria without ordering some tacos. We tried the Beef Al Pastor, Birria Taco, and the Grilled Shrimp Taco -- which were all outstanding and full of flavors.
For our main, we opted for the Pato -- a dish of duck breast with mole rojo, figs, and sesame. We were a bit disappointed by how fatty the duck was, but the mole and the figs paired really nicely with the dish.
