From crispy sambusa stuffed with mouthwatering fillings to hearty bowl of rice topped with a variety of veggies, Ras Plant Based serves delicious vegan Ethiopian food at its newest location in West Village.
Served with a side of spicy berbere hot sauce, the trio of sambusa is each filled with squash, mixed veggies, and lentils. The pastry shell is crispy for that perfect flakey bite.
Exclusive to the West Village location, this unique twist on nachos features deep-fried injera chips covered in homemade berbere cheese sauce, black beans, protein crumble, guacamole, and pico de gallo with a drizzle of sour cream -- all plant based, of course!
From the lunch menu, this fan-favorite includes a melange of delicious items like ras kitfo (soy protein crumble, onion, jalapeño, spice infused oil), alicha shiro (slow simmered chick pea), gomen (steamed collards green), yatakilt (cabbage, carrot, and bell pepper), and avocado salad on top of brown rice with crispy injera chips and a drizzle of spicy sauce.
If you are indecisive like me and can't decide what to get, then the Mercato is the perfect option for you. The dish comes with injera or a side of brown rice, and includes atakilt (cabbage, carrot, onion, bell pepper), gomen (braised collards green with sauteed onions), missir (slow simmered red lentil stew with fiery berbere sauce), shiro (creamy ground chickpeas), and fasolia (string bean, carrots, and caramelized onions).
