Embark On An Asian Fusion Culinary Journey At TAO Downtown

Descend into this multi-level, subterranean restaurant in Manhattan's hip Meatpacking District where you can indulge in mouthwatering Asian fusion cuisine.

Satay of Chilean Sea Bass

Smooth, silky skewer of grilled sea bass is generously coated with sweet miso glaze, and served with hijiki seaweed salad with edamame. The tender sea bass melts in your mouth, and the sweetness of the miso glaze revs up your appetite for a fabulous meal ahead.

Dim Sum Dumpling Platter

Enjoy a selection of TAO's best-selling dumplings in this platter, which features an assortment of steamed dumplings filled with seafood, pork, chicken, and vegetable. My personal favorite is the shumai, which is topped with crab meat and caviar.

Omakase

Omakase - which translates to "I will leave it up to you" in Japanese - features chef's selection of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. The evening's omakase highlighted 8 pieces of nigiri, 9 pieces of sashimi, 3 oysters, octopus salad, beef tartare, lobster, king crab...it goes on and on! One thing for sure - the fish is at its highest quality.

Drunken Pad Thai

Seasoned and sauteed with brandy, this dish - as the name suggests - could possibly get you drunk! Maybe not...but either way, the dish features flat rice noodles with generous amount of sweet, succulent lobster meat, tofu, and scallions topped with bean sprouts, cilantro, and cashew.

Mochi Tasting

Mochi is a popular Japanese dessert featuring ice cream wrapped in chewy, glutinous rice. With an order of the Mochi Tasting at TAO, you get six pieces that include flavors ranging from vanilla chocolate chips, chocolate, and pumpkin.
