Located in the heart of Mission District, Yuzuki Japanese Eatery offers dishes made from scratch using traditional methods and recipes. It's the first restaurant in the U.S that specializes in food prepared using Koji, a natural fermentation process that makes the food more palatable and easier to digest with a mild flavor enhanced by naturally-occurring amino acids.

Sashimi

Yuzuki has a changing menu of fresh sashimi special. The Tuna Sashimi features five thick-cut slices of lean, melt-in-your-mouth tuna. The Burdock Sashimi is seasoned with yuzu and daikon for some crunchiness.

Yakitori

Enjoy a mouthwatering selection of Yakitori, or Japanese-style grilled meat and vegetable skewers. The Tsukune (chicken meatball), Negima (chicken with scallion) and Teba (chicken wing) are all extremely tender and flavorful, while the Bura Bura (Kurobuta pork belly) has the right amount of fat to make it juicy. Finally, the Grilled Vegetables of mushroom and asparagus are the perfect healthy compliment to the meatier skewers.

Crispy

Karage Chicken from Yuzuki is a must - marinated in salt Koji, the fried chicken is juicy, meaty, and tender all at the same time. The special Vegetable Tempura featured crispy zucchini and mushroom, served with a side of yuzu salt.

Rice

The rice menuThe rice dishes are prominently featured on Yuzuki's menu as it's something you must get. The Yaki Omusubi features four grilled rice triangle topped with uni and watercress in soy butter sauce. The rice triangle has perfectly crispy edges, and the silky, buttery taste of uni just melts in your mouth. The Koshihikari Rice (Japanese short-grain rice noted for its nutty, sweet taste and slight stickiness) from the Central Valley is cooked in Japanese earthen pot. You can choose from four types - plain, salmon, salmon with ikura, and mushroom.

Dessert

No matter how full, you must try the traditional Japanese desserts. The Green Tea Ice Cream is complemented by homemade mochi, or chewy glutinous rice, with sweet azuki red beans. The Anmitsu dessert features decadent vanilla ice cream with brown sugar syrup with agar jelly.
