How I Fell In Love With Laser Hair Removal, A Much More Effective And Less Painful Method Than Waxing

It's summer time - if you want to avoid shaving your legs every day and waxing your underarm while undergoing excruciating pain, then try laser hair removal at Infinity Laser Spa to get that silky, smooth skin you have always wanted.
While most people have had their hair removed via shaving or waxing, a few have tried the process of laser hair removal. There are still misconceptions that laser hair removal is painful and expensive. However, not only is laser hair removal less painful than waxing, it also does not leave irritation and doesn't do damage to skin because it targets the hair follicle. Additionally, the hair growth after laser hair removal is much slower, if it ever grows back at all.
I had the opportunity to try laser hair removal at Infinity Laser Spa, which is located in Herald Square in Manhattan. In addition to laser hair removal, Infinity Laser Spa also offers tattoo removal and facials. Prior to making the appointment, I received several reminder and how-to emails from the Spa to prepare me for the experience. For example, before the first laser hair removal session, I was told to stay away from the sun, shave the area, keepy away from fragrances, and avoid waxing, plucking, or tweezing the area.
Infinity Laser Spa uses Vertex Lasers and Alma Soprano diode laser hair removal machines, which are suitable and efficient for all skin tones. So how does it work exactly to remove hair? During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.
When the beam of light reaches the treated area, you will feel a slight heat and pinprick. The procedure does not require local anesthetics or analgesics. Don't worry about the minor pain you will feel during the procedure - it indicates its effectiveness!
In order to make the laser hair removal more effective, you should not shave for at least 10 days to minimize the damage to your skin. Also because the skin gets sensitive and less defensive against bacteria on the day of the procedure, avoid doing any physical activity that day to prevent inflammation and keep the treated area clean.
After experiencing laser hair removal first-hand, I know this will be my go-to procedure, especially compared to waxing. Laser hair removal is much less painful and can actually save you money since it's much more permanent. Finally, you won't be getting itchy burning spot on your skin - noly the silky smooth skin you have always wanted!
