Serving omakase, nigiri, sashimi, maki, and other Japanese delights, Sushi Lab has a creative spin on traditional sushi with delectable offerings.

Located on the ground level of the Sanctuary Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, Sushi Lab specializes in affordable omakase (starting at $50 per person). The restaurant sits just about eight people around the sushi chef, so a reservation is a must.

The Blue Fin Toro Tartare is an absolute must. A perfect appetizer to kick off the omakase, the dish features fresh blue fin toro on top of smashed avocado, and topped with rice crunchies. The dish is served with a side of crispy nori crackers.
The omakase features chef's signature 10 pieces, served with smoky miso soup and a hand roll. Some of the creative nigiri includes red snapper with cherry blossom jelly, hamachi yellowtail, seared arctic char, striped jack, and lean tuna wrapped in nori.
The omakase will certainly satisfy your sushi cravings. These other favorites include scallops topped with truffle mushroom, toro with crispy tempura flakes, sweet shrimp with yuzu and creme fraiche, uni with fried shiso leaf, and a handroll stuffed with toro and ikura.
