Spacious and light-filled, Fig and Olive in NYC is an ideal space for lunch and dinner. The menu highlights the magic of the Mediterranean cuisine, concentrating on the freshest and simplest ingredients to feed both the body and the mind.

RIVIERA CROSTINI

The bite-sized (well, two bites!) crostini at Fig and Olive is to die for. You can choose three or six crostinis, ranging from Seared Tuna (Chickpeas with artichokes, Pickled Red Onions, Riviera Sauce), Sea Salt Butter (Breakfast Radish, Roasted Pepper, and Boquerones), and Sliced Beef (Seasonal Mushrooms and Fava Beans, Crispy Shallots, and Mustard Sauce) -- just to name a few.

SEAFOOD RISOTTO

The Seafood Risotto was by far my favorite dish of the night. Creamy, rich risotto is flavored with a generous amount of seafood like scallops, shrimp, calamari, and Spanish octopus in tomato crustacean sauce. The seafood is topped with Sicilian pesto that you mix in for additional flavor.

SEA SCALLOPS

Perched on top of crispy paella risotto cake are four perfectly seared, plump scallops. The dish is accompanied by crispy asparagus and thinly sliced chorizo, and served with crustacean diable sauce.

Bouillabaisse

This classic French dish tastes like a bowl of ocean. The fish stew features two different kinds of fish, along with scallops, mussels, calamari, and shrimp. The stew is served with a side of rouille and croutons that you dip in the broth.

TRIO OF SIDES

The sides must not be overlooked. The night's pick were Ratatouille Nicoise topped with sunny side up farm egg and a side of tapenade, Crispy Rosemary Polenta with mojo picon sauce, and Roasted Rainbow Carrots and Sweet Potato drizzled with tahini and harissa oil.
