We ventured into a little town called Sayulita for lunch. The concierge recommended Don Pedro's Restaurant for lunch.
The restaurant, located right on the beachfront, had a gorgeous view from the deck. While we waited for the food, which by the way took FOREVER, we spied on this guy attempting to learn paddle boarding and failing miserable. Haha. Oh the little joy we get from watching other people suffer...sigh.
A simple table-setting with green table cloth. There were so many street vendors nearby trying to sell us some goods.
I had Nicoise Salad: seared ahà tuna served with avocado, grilled asparagus and artichokes, red potatoes, tomatoes, olives, and quail eggs. I asked for the dressing on the side, but they must not have understood me because it was mixed in with the salad.
I quite enjoyed the salad even though the dressing was a bit overpowering. The tuna had black sesame seed on the surface for added texture and flavors. The quail egg didn't taste any different from regular eggs. I unfortunately got the stems of the asparagus and they were super jerky and unchewable. The grilled artichoke was quite greasy, while the slices of olives were salty enough that they accompanied the flatbread on the side really well.
Mexican Salad: mesquite grilled chicken breast served with romaine heart lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and crispy wonton.
Mexican pizza with chorizo, black beans, and basil.
Margarita: fresh mozzarella, fresh tomato & basil. Mr. Han asked it to be made spicy, and apparently the jalapeno was REALLY spicy.
Fish of the Day (I'm not quite sure what it was...): mesquite grilled with lemon, oregano, garlic, extra virgin olive oil and served with mashed potatoes & baby vegetables
What a beautiful day at the beach with lovely people!
