Chef James Tracy's Impressive New Restaurant In Midtown East Delights Diner

The first time I heard about Chef James Tracy was through one of my favorite foodie influencers @christineyi. I was super excited to experience his culinary magic at Monterey American Brasserie, and it certainly exceeded my expectations!

Opened in October 2022, Monterey American Brasserie brings midtown Manhattan a glamorous bold American restaurant featuring a raw bar, table side items, and favorites like Roast Prime Rib of Beef in a light, airy, yet sophisticated ambiance. The restaurant is hemmed by Executive Chef James Tracy.

Comte and Onion Bread

I try to limit my carb intake on most days, but the Comte and Onion bread is an absolute must. The freshly baked bread is best eaten with your hands as you pull the bread apart. Spread the savory bread with chive creme fraiche, and you have got yourself a taste of heaven.

Honeynut Squash

The perfect fall dish, the Honeynut Squash is drizzled with Calabrian honey and topped with stracciatella, crunchy pumpkin seed crumble, and sage.

Sweetbreads

The crispy sweetbreads are paired with parsley root, braised chestnuts, and lardons with shavings of black truffle.

Pan Roasted Salmon

Cooked perfectly to your liking, the pan roasted salmon is paired with lentils and brussels sprouts in red wine sauce.

Iberico Pork Chop

My personal favorite from the menu, iberico pork chop is served with ginger cabbage, honshemji mushrooms, and house bacon with smoked pork sauce that can be poured over the dish or served on the side.
