Red Velvet from Crumbs Cupcake

My friend's mom brought Crumbs Cupcakes from New York City. According to its website, Crumbs Bake Shop first opened its doors in March of 2003 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Although the menu includes a variety of comfort-oriented classics and elegant baked goods, the specialty of the house is the Crumbs Signature size cupcakes. I had the Red Velvet Cupcake: Authentic red velvet cake with rich cream cheese frosting, topped with red velvet crumbs and edged with white sprinkles.

Usually when I eat a cupcake, I only eat the cake and not the frosting, but this one was an exception! Not only was the velvet cake moist and just the right hint of cocoa flavors, but the frosting and the white sprinkles added nice texture and extra sweetness. The size of the cupcake is also worth mentioning...it was the size of a baby's head!
