Shot of Art is an art and entertainment space that provides fun and unique painting experiences - unlike anything you have seen before.
While scouring the internet for potential date ideas to celebrate me and my partner's anniversary, I stumbled upon Shot of Art. Located in Midtown Manhattan, Shot of Art combines the thrill of paintball and the creativity of art to offer a truly unique experience.
Of the different experiences, we opted for the signature Shooting + Spinning. Upon arriving at the art studio, we were asked to choose a canvas of our choosing in various sizes and shapes (rectangle, square, circle) as well as 5 different colors of paint. We were inspired by one of the example arts hanging on the wall at the studio, so opted for two 16 x 16 canvases with black, white, gold, and silver paint.
With the help of our instructor, we filled a total of 7 mini balloons with the paint we selected. After, we hung these balloons over the canvas that have been nailed to the spinner.
And BOOM! Now comes the fun part of shooting the balloons with an airsoft gun. The paint-filled balloons splattered over the canvas underneath to create unique splashes on the blank canvas underneath. The thrill of shooting the balloon was indescribable.
The final part of the experience involved spinning the paint-splashed canvas to create an amazing abstract work of art. My partner and I really enjoyed this unique art experience, and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique date idea.
