I thought I knew mini golf. You know, windmills, a clown's mouth, maybe a pirate ship if you're lucky. But then I went to Puttshack Miami at Brickell City Centre, and my entire concept of putt-putt just got a major upgrade.

Here's where Puttshack completely blew my mind: their Trackaball technology. Basically, each golf ball has a microchip that tracks every single shot you take. No pencils, no scorecards, no arguing with your friends about who actually got that hole-in-one. The courses have digital screens that display live leaderboards, and when you sink a putt, it literally celebrates you with lights and sounds. It's like bowling alley scoring but for mini golf, and honestly, it made the whole experience feel like a video game IRL. They have multiple courses with different themes and difficulty levels. We played two rounds, and each hole had these wild obstacles and challenges that actually felt creative and fresh.

The food at Puttshack was also way better than expected. It's not just standard bar food like sad nachos and frozen mozzarella sticks. Everything we tried was genuinely impressive. Some of the highlights were Miami Tailpipes (these Cuban-style croquette spring rolls are filled with ham and cheese béchamel and come with this incredible red pepper aioli. Super crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside), Thai Fried Chicken Bites (thse might have been my favorite. The chicken is marinated in Thai spices, perfectly fried, and then coated in this Asian sweet chili and sesame glaze that's both sweet and tangy), and Korean BBQ Bao Buns (fluffy steamed buns stuffed with Korean BBQ pulled pork, sriracha mayo, radish and fennel slaw, tarragon aioli, and sesame seeds. The combination of flavors was insane). The menu has options for basically every dietary preference, which I appreciated. There were clearly marked vegetarian and gluten-free options, so no one in your group gets left out.

For a fun night out with friends, a unique date, or even a birthday celebration, Puttshack is absolutely worth it. The combination of competitive mini golf, legitimately good food, and a buzzy social atmosphere makes it feel like an event rather than just an activity. If you're looking for something fun to do in Miami that isn't a beach or a club, Puttshack is a total vibe. Whether you're trying to impress a date, celebrate a birthday, or just need an excuse to hang with your crew, this place delivers. Just prepare to get competitive, eat way too many bao buns, and maybe discover you're way worse at mini golf than you thought.
